Wisconsin Forward Completes Strong Recruiting Class
So the Gophers lost to North Dakota in the NCAA Semifinals. Big deal! Gopher fans are celebrating anyway after news spread that the expected signing of the top hockey recruit in the nation had been completed. That's right all you rink rats, Phil Kessel is in the house! Get your jerseys lettered now, this kid is a STUD.
Minnesota stole this gem away from Wisconsin. His natural scoring ability, strong skating skills, and leadership will immediately make him a fan favorite among the Maroon and Gold.
Minnesota got an up-close and personal look at the future star in February when the Gophers played the Under-18 team in an exhibition game. Kessel scored two goals and two assists, and was described by Gophers coach Don Lucia as "the best player on the ice."
